Garden Match Puzzles ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Automatic Guest Account: When you first open the app, we create an anonymous guest account on our servers so that your progress can sync across re-installs and your score can appear on the leaderboard. This account is keyed to a random device identifier generated locally on your device — we do not receive your name, email, Apple ID, or any other personally identifying information at this step. You can delete this account (and all associated data) at any time from Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account.
Display Name (optional): You may choose a display name (2-20 characters) that appears on the public leaderboard and to friends you add. The default is "Gardener". You can change it at any time in Settings.
Gameplay Data: We store your game progress, scores, level completions, coins, boosters, and garden items to provide cloud saves and leaderboard functionality.
Social Data: If you add friends via friend codes, we store your friend connections and any in-game gifts exchanged (e.g. coins, seeds, water). Gift messages are chosen from a fixed set of preset messages — no free-text messaging is available. Your display name and star count are visible to friends you have accepted, and your display name and weekly score may appear on public leaderboards.
Purchase Data: If you make in-app purchases, transaction records are processed by Apple (App Store) and RevenueCat (our payment processor). We receive a transaction confirmation but do not store your payment method or billing details.
Device & Server Logs: Our servers record a locally-generated device identifier (used only to associate you with your guest account) and standard web logs such as IP address, user agent, and request timestamps for security and abuse-prevention purposes. IP addresses are used solely for rate limiting and fraud detection, are not used to track you across other apps, and are discarded from logs within 30 days.
Notifications: If you enable notifications, the app schedules daily reward reminders and challenge alerts locally on your device using Apple's notification system. We do not collect or store a push notification token on our servers, and we do not send remote push notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Third-Party Ads: We display ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS) to serve personalized ads. This data is used for:
App Tracking Transparency (iOS): On iOS 14.5 and later, we request your permission before using your advertising identifier for personalized ads. You can grant or deny this permission, and change your choice anytime in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. If you deny permission, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized.
Rewarded Ads: You may choose to watch video ads in exchange for in-game rewards (e.g., extra moves). This is entirely optional.
Friends: You can add friends by exchanging friend codes. Accepted friends can see your display name, garden progress, and total stars, and can send you in-game gifts. You can remove a friend at any time from the Social screen.
Gifts: Friends can send each other in-game items such as coins, seeds, water, and fertilizer. Gift messages are selected from a preset list — there is no open text-messaging or chat between players in the current version of the app.
Leaderboards: Your display name and score may appear on public weekly leaderboards visible to other players. If you play as a guest, you may be assigned a generated display name (e.g. "Gardener").
We use the following third-party services:
Your data is stored on secure servers with encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text. We retain your data only as long as your account is active.
Garden Match Puzzles is rated 9+ and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Guest play requires no personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
